Chicago 10K 2013

This was the race I wanted to do last year but thought it was a 10 miler instead of a 10k so I couldn’t find it, so I ran it this year.

I liked the marketing materials that was part of this run and they flowed it through to the T-Shirt and the Medal. What I thought was odd was that they gave you a choice of a cotton t or a wick wear t. Although you had to pay $5 extra for the wick wear. Of course I got the wick wear, and glad I did because it is a really nice design.

The course followed the path for the dashes that did so I was familiar with the route. It started at 8 and I was worried that it might get too hot, but the weather was really nice and was perfect for running. It did start to get warm but it was towards the end of the run.

I finished at 1hr. 9min. 00sec. I am happy with that time. When I was getting closer to the finish I saw people with the medal and they were huge! And couldn’t wait to finish. As usual Rick made me a poster and it was really good.

The next race is going to be the Disneyland Half! Can’t wait!
